FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! I will give you a receipt with my Registered Clinical License number on it, for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

what’s your cancellation policy?

I require 48 hours of notice of cancellation for your appointment, this helps ensure your appointment can be filled by any other clients who are on the waitlist. If a cancellation is made inside the 48 hour window, your credit card will be charged the full fee.

What’s your policy on confidentiality?

As outlined in my informed consent form, all my sessions with my clients are strictly confidential, where names AND stories shared in the therapeutic setting are never shared. I invite clients to show up in the most authentic version of themselves, and all feelings, thoughts and emotions are welcomed in the therapeutic space. With this said, there are a few exceptions to confidentiality that I am legally and ethically bound by the CCPA; these include-

  • Disclosure of child or elder abuse

  • Disclosure of intent to harm yourself or others

  • In the case that a court of law would subpoena my notes.

In all the cases above, confidentiality will be broken in the most collaborative and realistic fashion possible.

What’s your social media policy?

While social media is a wonderful tool to learn, I do not follow or engage with any past or current clients on social media. There are several reasons for this: for my own personal boundaries, for boundaries set forth by the CCPA, and to protect the confidentiality of my clients. As well, please note I only communicate with my clients in-session or via email, as such, I do not respond to any Instagram or other social media direct messages.

what happens if I see you outside of the therapy room?

With Squamish being a small town, the likelihood of this happening exists. While I will never approach or acknowledge my clients first, if you choose to say hi, then great! However, if you'd like to continue on without acknowledgement, well, that’s also great!

WHAT IF I SHOW UP LATE?

I understand life happens, and so does lateness. However, if you are more than 10 minutes late, we will have to reschedule our session, and the session will be charged in full. I ask that clients do their best to arrive on time, and if you’re going to be late, send me an email!

HOW DO I GET IN TOUCH WITH YOU?

The best and fastest way to reach me is through email, I do not communicate with clients via text or phone calls. If the matter is urgent and requires an immediate response, I cannot guarantee this. If the matter requires crisis support, please call the BC crisis line (988) or go to your local emergency room.

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?

I require a credit card on file to book any appointment, however I only accept cash or e-transfer for session payment.
